Happy Late 3.14 Day!

Well, Pi Day was fun! If you don't know what Pi Day is, I'm not going to help you out here. This blog is written for people who know what this stuff is. You have Google, use it.
Anyways, moving on.
I do not understand, no matter how I try, why people insist on celebrating Pi with pie.
Yes, I get that Pi and pie sound exactly the same, and they both have to do with a circle, but besides that there is no connection.
Pie day is January 23rd, and you don't see people doing complicated Pi problems then.
Yes, I'm a stickler, but I can't help it.
Please, do not mention pie to me on Pi day... PLEASE...
Okay, rant over.
I made cupcakes for Pi day, in verious colors. What better way to embrace this geeky day than with a purple cupcake (not a purple pie)
I hope you all had a wonderful 3.14 day.. I might have to start calling it that... Eliminating the pie annoyance, one blog at a time... Harharhar

My Own Personal Soundtrack

Enjoy.

Some people say that I'm a freak,
but I'm really just a total geek.
I like finding helpless n00bs to pawn,
Could meet my true love at Comic Con.
I know you find it awful weird,
that I might use bubbles to make a Galdalf beard,
or spend $50 on a replica of his hat,
But I'm a geek! And that is that.
Some girls might say that it's not hot,
if with a WoW bow you're a crack shot,
But I think there isn't much cooler than that.
Cuz I'm a geek! And that is that!
I can tell you that I love you,
in Elvish or in l33t,
And I think it's kind of sexy,
if you have some hairy feet.
So "normal" peeps, don't frown at me,
or tell me I'm a Star Wars quoting pest,
all trekkies would agree with me,
being a geek is the best!
I've memorized cheat codes to games,
I know 30 digits of Pi,
You could never be this awesome even if you tried.
While your favorite villian is Chris Brown, mines a chick dressed as a cat.
You're missing out on oh so much!
I'm a geek, and that is that!

Yes, it needs some work.

Velkommen

I love Lord Of The Rings.
That is probably all you need to know about me, ever.
Only, there's more.
I like Star Wars too.
And Dr. Who.
and comic books,
and RPGs,
and HTML
and The Legend Of Zelda,
and Pi.
Anyways, I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

I am a geek, and I do not care what other people think about it, I am completely in love with being who I am.
My dad can try repeatedly (and so he does) to convince me that learning Elvish is a waste of time, but I won't listen.
Many people don't understand.
This is a passion, a way of life.
The same way some people love to express themselves through singing, I love to  express myself by dressing up as a character from a Japanese Anime.
Some people find happiness in running a marathon, whereas I am drowning in bliss  when a new Dr. Who episode is released.
Most people go to places like Disney World or Hawaii for vacation; I am staying in a replica if a Hobbit house.
Things that people deem as a "waste of time" complete my life and bring a smile to my face.
I think spending an hour on ones hair everyday is a waste of time, but this is deemed normal in our culture. So why is weird if I spend hours on a cosplay costume?
Perhaps we will never know.
But I think I like it this way.
It takes a special kind of person to be a geek, to be someone so passionate about sci-fi/etc that you spend hundreds of dollars on transportation, rooming and a ticket and walk around in a (usually) uncomfortable costume just to go to a con.
... That is who I am, and I will never be ashamed of it.
